Analytics: A Wealth of Information at your Fingertips

Whether you’re a small or large business, with a few hundred or few million clients, having large amounts of information easily available can help your business grow and increase profits. It’s extremely helpful to have information about callers and clients, plus detailed information about your business and  how it’s working. With certain VoIP phone services, you get caller analytics and business analytics at your fingertips.

There are two types of information that can be gathered through data analytics. One type has to do with incoming callers. The other type looks at different aspects of your business performance. Both are important for a variety of reasons. They allow you to better understand customers and see areas of improvement for business procedures.

Caller Analytics

If you want to know information about incoming callers, analytics is the way to go. You can see the breakdown of callers, their individual and collective demographics, social profiles, and even phone providers. For instance, you can see the age, financial status and education level of a caller. This allows you to adapt your questions or services specifically to them. Caller analytics also allow you to track social media campaigns. How many likes are you getting on Facebook? Are you tweets getting re-tweeted? Who’s following you on LinkedIn? All of this information can help provide a better understanding of your clients. Most of all, it helps you provide services that they need.

Business Analytics

This provides you with data visualization and dashboards that give you insights to help optimize business performance. You will have access to real-time data that provides the information you need to allocate resources more efficiently and fine tune your system for optimal performance. There are two main areas of information that get collected. One involves business intelligence, and the other looks into statistical analysis.

Business intelligence looks at data over time to measure performance for individuals, departments, or companies. You can see which individuals are bringing in the most money. Seasonal fluctuations in profit can also be examined. As you see the ups and downs over time, and throughout the company, you can get a sense of the areas that need improvement.

Statistical analysis has more to do with algorithms that allow you to predict future success. Based on past performance, you can anticipate future events to some extent. You can also use this to find groups of customers that share similarities based on collected data. This could increase your ability to focus on niche marketing.
