Alliance Phones Review Summary

If you are looking for cloud-based VoIP solutions for your small or medium sized business, here are some things you should know about Alliance Phones. Their goal is to provide reliable and easy-to-use business phone systems that can work in a variety of situations. From what we can see, their system is simple yet effective.

Alliance Phones has chosen to only work with business clients, not residential.  They also don't work with large enterprises, just small and medium sized companies. We feel this allows them to better understand the specific needs of their customers.

Unlike many other phone companies that resell VoIP solutions that are based on platforms that they did not create, Alliance Phones owns their own technology. This provides an in depth understanding of the product which allows them to better troubleshot some of the problems that you might experience. We see this as a big benefit when it comes to knowledgable customer support.

Overall Review

As an overall VoIP service provider, we gave Alliance phones a rating of 7.1/10 for several reasons. We appreciate the simplicity of their services and easy to navigate website. Some VoIP sites are so packed full of information, it's easy to get lost on some random page and not be able to find what you're really looking for. Alliance Phones gives you just the information you need without any fluff.

A good example of this is their three phone plans, aptly named Easy, Simplicity and Effortless. At every curve they attempt to lessen your stress and make things easier for you and your business. Each plan comes with basic features and services, you just need to decide which plan is best for you. For more information about these service plans, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Small & Medium Business Review

Setting up a new business can be difficult and expensive. Between business licensing fees, office rental, supplies and equipment, and employee salaries, it's important to save money wherever you can. Alliance Phones knows these struggles and has created simple ways help. They have no set up costs and allow you to try service risk free for 30 days. If you find their service is not right for you, it won't cost you a dime.

Compared to other companies that provide VoIP services for small & medium sized businesses, they do better than average in some categories, but not all. They excel in reliability and customer support, but they lack some features that we think could be very useful. All in all, they provide a solid product.

Alliance Phones Reliability (8.0 / 10)

If we were to pick the single most important aspect of a phone service for your small business, it would be reliability. All the fancy features and low prices don't mean a thing if the service doesn't work on a consistent basis. For this reason, Alliance Phones has 3 redundancy locations within the US to secure the reliability of your phone service.

Because their system is hosted in the cloud, your phones continue to work even if there are disruptions in internet service. The ability to set up your mobile phone as a destination for incoming and outgoing calls in case the power goes out is an important aspect in our rating criteria. Being able to provide service for customers regardless of power issues is critical for small businesses.

We were pleasantly surprised to see they offer a Free Demo for potential customers. You simply submit an online request and they will send you everything you need to try their service risk free for 2 days. This includes a temporary number and unlimited calls. Once you've been able to test out the features and phone quality, you'll be able to know if their service is right for you. Most companies include a money back guarantee after 30 days, which Alliance Phones does as well, but we've found complications with the reimbursement side of this strategy. Offering a free 2 day demo seems like a great alternative.

Alliance Phones Features (8.2 / 10)

Depending on the size of your small business, you may need different features to meet your specific needs. As we looked at the available features through Alliance Phones, we found them adequate, but not overly impressive. They provide basic features for receiving, recording and routing incoming calls, and the ability to have toll free and local numbers.

We know accessibility to the cloud is also important for modern small businesses, and they do provide Cloud PBX which includes things like auto attendant and group extensions. We think these cloud integrated features are especially important for small businesses because they are often times run remotely and need the ability to have full access to customer and company information from a home or business location.

A few features we would like to highlight are their customized voicemail greetings and hold music. If you want your small businesses  to have a more personal touch with customers, you can design these to reflect your unique style. Overall, Alliance Phones provides the basic features you would need to run a small business, which is why they received a solid 7/10 rating.

Alliance Phones Value (8.1 / 10)

Is Alliance Phones a good value?

The overall value of a given service is subjective depending on how the system works for your particular needs. From what we've seen on their site and through the lens of customers and other outside entities, Alliance Phones does well at providing a good overall value for VoIP service. One encouraging indication is their A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, instilling a solid level of trust for potential customers.

From our point of view, having their system in the cloud is one of the best aspects of their service. It allows you to use one phone number in multiple locations and stay connected regardless of distance. If your business takes you oversees, Alliance Phones provides the ability to make and receive international calls, and keep your different mobile platforms fully integrated.

Being able to create specific rules for incoming and outgoing calls is also a big plus in our book. This allows you to prioritize calls to make your call flow more efficient. Lastly, we like the ability to design a call recording to reflect your unique style. Many small businesses thrive on providing more personal services to their customers, so anything that makes your customers feel at home is appreciated.

Alliance Phones Customer Support (8.5 / 10)

When we first investigated Alliance Phone's website, we were surprised by the simplicity of it. Many other VoIP phone carriers have large, complicated sites packed with huge amounts of information. Alliance Phones has a simple site that gives you all the basic information you need without any bells and whistles.

If you need help with service, you can use their live chat window, send an email, or give them a call. The system seems uncomplicated but efficient. We read some actual customer reviews regarding their support and all but one had nothing but great things to say about their customer service.

We did appreciate the screenshots they provided for setting up different types of soft phones. It's sometimes hard to get new technological devices set up with a new system, and actual screenshots showing what to do is quite helpful. Based on their simple, yet effective customer service, we give them a rating of 7/10.
