If the security of your phone calls and company data are at the top of your priority list, you should know that Vonage uses one of the largest MPLS IP networks in the U.S to run their system. The Vonage Network Operations Center is impressive! It's up and running every hour of every day, all year round managing Vonage's voice and data networks for customers. They use multi-level fail-safes and cloud backup protocol to maximize uptime and limit static, dropped calls, and loss of data. Business entities need to have a communications system with this level of reliability.

Vonage's Business Cloud and Enterprise platforms are both maintained in the cloud, allowing your system to be hosted in various data centers around the country. This distributed cloud network allows for updates and enhancements to your system somewhere other than your business site, limiting possible interruptions to your operations. Vonage Business customers get regular maintenance to their system without ever ordering it, or having to pay extra for it. The beauty of the cloud!

Maximizing and prioritizing bandwidth usage is another great way to increase a system's reliability. Vonage excels in this area. They assign specific 'buckets' within their system to optimize your network voice, data, and video performance. The total amount of available features from Vonage Business Cloud and Vonage Enterprise is extremely impressive. The features are sorted into a handful of categories that focus on privacy, mobility, business personalization, customer service, and collaboration. Arranging them by type makes it easier for businesses to envision how these features could be utilized.

With regards to mobility, Enterprise organizations can use Mobile Connect for softphone service to place calls and send texts with a mobile device and have it reflect your business phone number and information. Small businesses can use the Business Cloud Mobile App that works with iPhones, iPads, and Android phones, allowing you to forward incoming calls to your selected mobile devices. Paperless faxing and voicemail to email transcription are also available.

Everything a business needs to accept, direct, and route incoming calls is available through Vonage. The category that impressed us the most was Vonage's features. They provide everything we think a small or enterprise sized business needs to succeed from a communications stand point. Vonage's commitment to technology development and innovation ensures that their customers will be on the leading edge of business telephony and digital communications for the foreseeable future.

Solid Customer Support

Vonage Customer Support is solid! We found that it's very easy to get a support representative on the phone during extended business hours (8:00am to 12:00am ET on weekdays) and from 9:00am to 9:00pm ET on weekends. Emergency support is even available, on-call, during the hours not listed above. This level of support is extremely rare and it goes to show you how seriously Vonage takes it's commitment to be the best business VOIP provider available. Good customer support is critical for technologies like VOIP and we've concluded that Vonage exceeds the norm. We're convinced that you'll get the help you need.

In addition to conventional phone support, Vonage offers online chat support. We think chat support is a great option for users who like to multitask, and aren't needing to speak directly to a support rep. Chat hours are only available during weekdays, but we found the chat support to be a great alternative for certain types of issues and questions. Also note that the support reps are very well trained, good communicators, and polite!

Vonage also offers online account training and articles that can help with your questions. The FAQs are a huge resource, offering up years of experience that other providers can only envy. Vonage has been doing VOIP for a long time and it shows.

Vonage Enterprise UC

With one of the nation's largest dedicated MPLS networks with 25+ individual POPs, Vonage works hard to keep your data fast, private, and easily accessible whenever you need it. Their middle tier enterprise plan, the Enterprise UC plan, includes all the features of the basic plan, plus an additional 20 features that allow more mobility and customization to your business communications system.

Sequential Ring is one of these features which allows a user to select a “find-me” list of phone numbers and URLs which are then alerted sequentially when an incoming call matches a set of criteria. While waiting for the service to find the user, the calling party listens to a predetermined set of greetings. Similar to this, Simultaneous Ring allows you to instigate call forwarding by configuring your cell phone or other type of phone to ring when calls come into your desk phone.

If you're not always working at your desk, the Remote Office feature enables users to access and use their personal Vonage profile and services from any mobile device from wherever they are located. For those who work mostly from their desk and need to communicate with other employees around the office, Push To Talk is extremely helpful. The biggest differences between the Enterprise UC plan and the Enterprise Plus plan reside in something Vonage calls MobileConnect features. Within Vonage MobileConnect, customers will gain free access to services on a Softphone, IM and Presence capabilities, and a feature called Collaborate. All three are designed to increase the mobility of your organization.

MobileConnect Softphone allows you to make and receive texts messages and business calls on the go, while maintaining access to the same calling features as your desk phone. Your softphone can be utilized through a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. Mobile Connect IM and Presence does two things. Instant Messaging provides for group chats and direct messages between other MobileConnect that can be accessed through your MobileConnect app. Presence places an icon next to contact names in your directory which changes color based on their current availability.
