RingCentral
  • Cloud Hosted PBX
  • Toll-free Numbers
  • Visual Voicemail
  • Internet Fax

RingCentral is an exciting and growing cloud-based communications company. They provide products that connect employees and clients in new and innovative ways. They offer a modern cloud-based communication and collaboration platform which does the work of a traditional office phone system, virtual PBX, and VoIP business phone service combined.

RingCentral's list of business features is pretty comprehensive. They've taken the time to provide great tools for voice, video and team messaging that enhance collaboration and communication, ahead of some of the more established providers. With RingCentral it's simple to hold online meetings with employees all around the world.

In addition to great calling and collaboration tools, RingCentral offers contact center solutions, that allow you to connect and route customers to the appropriate contact within your business, all from a powerful control center application. RingCentral takes system reliability very seriously as indicated by their early decision to build their own technology and network, and to build in redundancy across all areas they occupy geographically. Note that we've rated their reliability a score of 9.5. Overall, RingCentral is a solid solution for business communications needs. They've ranked in our top 3 for some time now.

Vonage Business
  • Video Conferencing
  • 40+ Standard Features
  • 24/7 Support
  • SmartWAN (SD-WAN)

Simplicity and ease of use is something we find extremely important when selecting a VoIP phone provider. We've found that Vonage Business does this well by providing a plug and play system that allows you to get started with your service very quickly. Simply plug in your compatible phone or download the Vonage app, and you can begin making calls immediately - no extra wires or bulky equipment.

We love the ability customers have to customize their Vonage business plan to meet specific business needs. This results in businesses only having to pay for the features they use - and nothing more. Top features we like include Virtual Receptionist, Paperless Fax, Vonage Visual Voicemail, and Call Recording. Also, the availability of selecting month-to-month pricing provides flexibility to scale your plan up or down as your needs change.

Keeping your existing number is available with most Vonage phone plans, allowing you to maintain connections with established customers. Discounts are available for multiple extensions. Combine all of this with an impressive array of included features and you can see why we've awarded Vonage Business an overall rating of 9.5/10.

PhonePower
  • Unlimited Calling
  • Mobile Phone App
  • Block List
  • Find Me, Follow Me

PhonePower offers solid residential VoIP phone service to US and Canada residents. We've rated their reliability, their features, their customer support, and we've evaluated their overall value. While they're not our top rated provider, they are a good service.

PhonePower's system is similar to other residential VoIPs. They basically send you a device, you install it, and you're up and running. PhonePower's device is reliable and easy to use. There are some customer complaints about the mobile app and online interface, but we don't think they're deal breakers.

PhonePower includes a ton of great features (45+ features) with all of their plans, a definite advantage as compared to some of the bare minimum providers. Check out the features section of our review to see all that PhonePower offers.

Customer support with PhonePower is a mixed bag. While they pride themselves in having US based support, customers have sometimes complained that the support is sub-par (knowledge, effectiveness, speed). Hopefully PhonePower hears the feedback and is working on customer service quality.

As far a value goes, PhonePower is one of the best we've reviewed. The combination of great pricing, over 45 included features, and reliable phone service, results in a great value. One caveat - PhonePower's online interface and app look a little outdated, not as polished as some of the other provider interfaces.

Summary: PhonePower is a good VoIP service with lots a great calling features.
